Better Than a Thousand Hollow Words…

"Better than a thousand hollow words is one word that brings peace." ~ Buddha

This is my favourite quote by the Buddha, as it speaks to the heart of the teachings. How does it make you feel? Talk about it in the comments below!

I’ll list the full quote here, but kept the first verse for the image:

“Better than a thousand hollow words
Is one word that brings peace.
Better than a thousand hollow verses
Is one verse that brings peace.

Better than a hundred hollow lines
Is one line of the law, bringing peace.”

~ Gautama Buddha in “The Thousands” from the Dhammapada (as translated by Thomas Byrom)
