This website was created basically as a place where I (Alan Peto) could store all my research on ovarian cancer for my mom. Instead of keeping it to myself, I decided to make it available to anyone who wishes to view it.

Ovarian Cancer is the deadliest of gynecological cancers, yet it receives almost no funding compared to the 'popular' cancers like breast and prostate. This website hopefully will help shed light on all the research that is out there so some sort of cure, treatment, or method(s) can be identified to help these women.
This website is all about community and interactivity. Most anyone can become an 'author' and create articles, do research, join the discussion boards, etc. Articles, Knowledgebase article, and/or blogs (called "Articles" for the rest of this page) typically feature the citations and or references to websites/studies/trials/publications that the article is based off. You should review these citations to fully understand what has been typically summarized. In addition, reviewing it with your physician is the best course of action as they can explain to you in layman terms the complex medical terminology typically found in such publications.
Our intended audience is anyone with an interest in treating and finding a cure for ovarian cancer. This can include everyone from patients, caregivers, oncologists, reporters, etc.
As the website owner, I am the principle editor and author. Any article or blog posted by any other registered author is reviewed first before being 'published'. This does not mean it has been medically reviewed, just simply editorially reviewed.
