It didn't take the Bush administration long to put a spin on the "War on Terrorism".  On Wednesday they said that the war on terrorism would not be used for re-election purposes.

Anything can be further from the truth.  Bush is trying to pass a multi-million dollar defense funding bill that will obviously be of political interest to both politicians and citizens near military bases.  Spending over $50 billion dollars to fight a war against terrorists who live in the poorest countries in the world is ridiculous.  The proposed spending is obviously political because you don't need that much money to fight terrorism and no amount of money can ever replace human intelligence (which the CIA and NSA has found out).

The war on terrorism is being used for political gain and will be for years to come.  A campaign that should have been developed and implemented very differently is not being done so.

Dramatic changes to our energy policy (which has been dominated for years by companies like Enron) and our civil defense programs (for which FEMA should be given great credit with the lack of support they usually get).
